VANISHING VILLAGES QUIZ RESULT

Each of the two quizes run in Broxted had an outright winner. Heather Salvidge of Elsenham correctly identified all 10 rivers, whilst David Morgan of Thaxted correctly identified 8 of the 10 photos of local churches. They will each receive a copy of the 2005 Community Calendar as a prize as soon as it is available.

In the rivers quiz competitors were asked to decide which river flowed through the named towns. Correct pairings were as follows:

Buntingford - Rib; Clavering - Stort; Dunmow - Chelmer; Great Bardfield - Pant; Molehill Green - Roding; Much Hadham - Ash; Newport - Cam; Saffron Walden - Slade; Ware - Lea.  Hatfield Broad Oak had no listed river, though it lies on Pincey Brook, whilst the River Beane had no associated town, although it flows through Hertford.
