ROAD AND RAIL ISSUES IN THE SPOTLIGHT AT THE STANSTED AIRPORT PUBLIC INQUIRY

Over the next fortnight, the Stansted Airport Public Inquiry will examine road and rail issues in the context of BAA's proposals to expand passenger capacity and increase aircraft movements at Stansted Airport on its single runway.

Alongside Stop Stansted Expansion (SSE), Essex and Herts County Councils, the Airlines Consultative Committee and Saffron Walden Friends of the Earth will be giving evidence opposing BAA's plans and cross-examining the airport developer.

The thrust of SSE's surface access evidence is focused on the unreliability of BAA's forecasting, its understatement of the impacts and the inadequacy of its proposed mitigation.

The full programme for the period 25 September to 4 October appears below, followed by links to key documents and proofs of evidence from Stop Stansted Expansion which are accessible online.

All sessions are being held at Endeavour House, usually 10am-5pm (3pm on Friday), close to Stansted Airport - see directions
