POSH FROCKS SALE IN AID OF AIRPORT INQUIRY APPEAL

Good condition dresses, suits, coats and accessories for day, evening and special occasions will go on sale at The Old School House, Four Ashes Takeley this Saturday (21 April) in aid of Stop Stansted Expansion’s (SSE) public inquiry fundraising appeal.

The sale will feature dressy outfits from ball gowns to party dresses and ensembles fit for a day at the races or night at the opera – with hats, bags, stoles and gloves (in perfect condition, of course) to match, as well as smart but simpler day wear items.

The “Posh Frocks” event is the result of months of planning and preparation by SSE member Irene Jones who has gathered hundreds of items for the sale as a way of raising money to fight airport expansion plans at the public inquiry which starts on 30 May.

“We’ve been given some really good items of quality clothing, including designer dresses and hats for the sale,” said Irene Jones. “There really is something to suit all tastes.”

Doors open at 11am and the sale runs until 3pm. A professional alterations service will be offered at the event.

Over £70,000 has already been donated or pledged towards the SSE public inquiry fund.

See the advance photos page and also details on how to donate to the SSE fund. Also you can contact the SSE office on 01279 870558.
