RUNWAY RAMBLE A GREAT SUCCESS

The turnout for Stop Stansted Expansion's 5th annual Runway Ramble organised by Stuart and Helen Walker of Church End, Broxted, held on Saturday morning (10 June) was excellent.

Over 350 people from across the region took part to not only enjoy the beautiful countryside under threat but to send a clear message that whoever owns Stansted Airport, the community is still overwhelming opposed to the massive expansion plans for doubling capacity on the single runway, never mind constructing a new one.

Many of those taking part wore fancy dress, masks or carried placards to make their point.  Initial indications are that the event raised in the region of £2000 for the campaign.
