ON THEIR BIKES TO OPPOSE AIRPORT EXPANSION!

Septuagenarian William Chastell and his son Rob took to their bikes on Sunday (21 August) to cycle 106 miles round the six Essex villages with the name Tye Green to raise over £350 for Stop Stansted Expansion's fighting fund.

William, from Broxbourne, Herts, completed the circular ride in just ten hours.  The start and finish point was the Elsenham Tye Green which is threatened with possible destruction by proposals for a second runway at Stansted Airport.

The route passed through Tye Greens in Harlow, Good Easter, Stock (near Ingatestone), Cressing and Wimbish.  Seeing off William and Rob were SSE supporters Maggie Sutton, Ian Hobson and Jane Howson who were full of praise for their spectacular efforts.

Anyone wishing to sponsor William retrospectively can do so by calling him on M 078357 11154.
