Birchanger Village is once again supporting Stop Stansted Expansion, this time with a Summer BBQ in a lovely garden setting. After the success of the recent Burns Suppers and Lamb Roast, this will be another great event, not to be missed!
We'll be serving a sumptuous range of grilled meats, from ribs to burgers, sausages to steaks (with veggie options, of course), plenty of seasonal salads and puds – and kids go free, though we need to know in advance that they're coming. There'll be music too, with table seating under marquee cover in case of burning hot sunshine – or summer showers – though you're welcome to bring picnic blankets if you'd prefer less formal dining.
Tickets cost just £15 to cover all the food and there'll be a licensed pay bar serving the usual range of beers and lagers, wines and soft drinks.
Tickets are on sale (in advance only) through SSE and we advise you to make your booking quickly, using this form, to avoid disappointment.

20 September | 1pm to 5pm approx | Molehill Green | HERITAGE HIKE
In a slight change to our annual Runway Ramble, SSE is holding a Heritage Hike this year. The event consists of a four mile circular walk, mainly through the Parish of Takeley, to see many of the 35 historic properties - including 13 listed buildings - plus homes and countryside threatened with damage, decay and demolition by BAA's second runway plans.
Stuart Walker, creator of the Five Parishes Millennium Walks, is designing the route in conjunction with Douglas Kent of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings.
There'll be a sizzling BBQ at Molehill Green from 1pm to 5pm and the walk will formally commence after a commemorative photo at 2pm - though you
can start at any time during the afternoon.
The event is free but why not make your efforts count towards our Second Runway Fighting Fund using the sponsorship form.

3 October | 7.30pm for 8pm start | Broxted Village Hall | BROXTED RACE NIGHT
If you've never been to a Race Night before, it's great fun: films are shown of horse races and people bet on a Tote to win money. There will be eight races, with eight horses in each.
Entry will be £7.50 per head to include a buffet - with proceeds going to SSE
